23rd August, Amsterdam: Blockchain-as-a-Service (BaaS) platform mintBlue collaborates with the first-of-its-kind logistics enablement platform Dockflow to take the freight community to the next level of transparency and efficiency. Out of a multitude of advantages brought forth by the collaboration, two facets particularly stand out- enabling data ownership and facilitating contributions to nature restoration.
Driven by many (usually more than 30) parties sharing information with each other on the day-to-day, logistics and supply chain is reliant on every single part of the system working in tandem, without fail. While everyone delivers a piece of the data puzzle, it’s data ownership that allows them to monetize this valuable data. The mintBlue X Dockflow partnership ensures that shippers, forwarders, carriers, and other involved parties can have true ownership over their data, allowing them to authenticate, share, and monetize it without losing control, while also leveraging this more resilient data for competitive advantage or complex collaborations. At the same time, they are also enabled to meticulously track CO2 emissions, plant trees and consistently contribute to other activities that make a positive impact on the environment.
“We are very excited to have Dockflow onboard as a partner. We have been working with them for a long time, but have only recently unlocked the true potential of this partnership. By combining our storage protocol and the nature restoration protocol, they can offer their clients true data ownership while giving them the opportunity to contribute to nature restoration. This brings track & trace to a new level; it’s not just following things anymore, tracking now also means making an impact”, says Pieter Den Dooven, co-founder and CIO of mintBlue.
Logistics and supply chain had a brief blockchain hype where solutions were often too focused on technical implementation than usability, data quality and business value. With the coming together of mintBlue and Dockflow, this is no longer the case. By connecting to the mintBlue ecosystem, Dockflow is better equipped to achieve an increased degree of transparency for all partners in the supply chain, eliminating room for distrust- an element undesirably common in the industry.
Moreover, as emissions tracking and carbon compensation is becoming increasingly requisite for supply chains, blockchain technology allows businesses to strengthen their sustainability initiatives, meet regulatory requirements, and promptly respond to growing customer demand demands for environmentally conscious products and services.
Previously, mintBlue and Dockflow worked together on a project pertaining to ‘blockchain in supply chains’ initiated by the Belgian government. In the collaboration, mintBlue took on the role of the blockchain expert, and Dockflow as an innovative logistics/supply chain product. Their concerted effort went remarkably well that the two entities decided to continue the collaboration even outside of the project- adds Pieter.
“We’ve enjoyed working alongside mintBlue for years and I’m really excited to bring their offering to our customers. This really opens up a new world of possibilities for Dockflow users, and the freight community. We’ve already got customers lined up to bring their data to this new era of blockchain, unlocking opportunities for their business models. On a personal note, I’m passionate about the environment and cannot wait to see the ecological impact this partnership will have”, says Pauline Van Ostaeyen, co-founder of Dockflow.

About mintBlue
mintBlue was founded in January 2022 and since then its mission has been to empower individuals and organisations to take absolute control of their data. mintBlue is a Blockchain-as-a-Service (BaaS) platform that provides an incredibly easy to use code base to add blockchain features and benefits to existing infrastructure. The platform's blockchain development suite removes the complexity of blockchain technology so that organisations can focus on their own solution and business logic, instead of investing resources into building it from scratch. mintBlue specialises in fully compliant, patent-protected blockchain technologies and works with professional data centres. The technology has been endorsed by multiple universities as the best option for implementing blockchain. In fact, the Central Bank of Norway has determined that mintBlue’s underlying blockchain protocol is the most suitable option for a national digital currency, and can handle more transactions than all other operational blockchains combined. mintBlue’s international reach currently provides enterprise services across Europe, and is accessible globally. Those services include immutable storage, eInvoicing solutions, document authentication, data provenance, and more.
